Altus Tech Services

Technical range is part of the service.

Altus is intentionally built for problems that cross the usual boundaries between websites, software, infrastructure, networks, accounts, UX, and business operations.

That does not mean pretending to be every kind of specialist. It means understanding enough of the whole setup to diagnose responsibly, implement the right parts, and recognize when another specialist belongs in the plan.

Arthur Zey, owner of Altus Tech Services

About Arthur Zey

I have been the person people bring technology problems to since I was eight.

I was helping neighbors with computers as a child, and that instinct never went away. I have worked as a network administrator, built and managed complex systems, developed custom tools, improved workflows, designed websites, and supported the practical technology needs of businesses and families.

My professional experience has also spanned product, engineering, developer experience, technical documentation, and UX leadership at organizations including Amazon, Twitter, Autodesk, Ookla, and Renaissance Periodization. That work taught me to move between the customer’s goal and the technical details without losing either.

I have led API and developer-platform work, rebuilt and migrated content systems, worked across software architecture and product strategy, and helped teams turn complicated information into usable experiences. At home in the Colorado mountains, I have configured multiple concurrent internet connections to keep mission-critical work online despite unreliable providers.

Altus is where that range becomes a direct service. I like difficult problems, but I especially like making the result understandable and maintainable for the person who has to live with it.

How we work

Calm analysis. Clear communication. Proportionate solutions.

Start with the outcome

The customer should not need to know whether the problem belongs to DNS, UX, networking, hosting, account administration, or something else before asking for help.

Explain the tradeoffs

There is rarely one technically possible answer. We make cost, complexity, reliability, control, and maintenance visible so you can choose responsibly.

Leave it understandable

A strong solution is not only functional on launch day. It should be supportable, documented where appropriate, and suited to the people who will operate it.

The whole situation

A technical generalist by design.

Real technology problems cross artificial categories. A website issue may involve hosting, DNS, email delivery, analytics, UX, or a business process. A connectivity issue may involve the internet provider, Wi-Fi, routing, hardware, a VPN, or device configuration.

Arthur has worked hands-on with technology since the 1990s, across network and IT administration, websites and custom web applications, developer platforms, UX, technical documentation, internet-performance products, customer support, and product leadership. That breadth helps Altus diagnose the whole situation instead of treating one symptom—and recognize when a specialist should take over.
